Dress Purple Day succeeds in building awareness about child safety

Schools and community agencies across Ontario and in Hamilton united on October 24 to spread the word about the right of children and youth to safety and well being, as part of Ontario Dress Purple Day. We want to thank all our community partners for their good work yesterday, especially the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies, the Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton, the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board, the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, the Hamilton Police Services, the City of Hamilton, the Diocese of Hamilton, and many more.

Many schools participated by wearing purple and teaching a specialized curriculum that helps students understand their right to safety, and how they can find help if their right to safety is being threatened. St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic Elementary School wins the prize for most creative way to share the message!
