Ontario has passed the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA). The legislation, once proclaimed, will put children at the centre of decision-making, and support more accountable, responsive and accessible child and youth services. It will also strengthen oversight for children’s aid societies and licensed residential services. The Ministry has released the first phase of draft regulations/policy statements for public input. On Thursday, November 23, we hosted the 28th Annual Serendipity Auction to a packed house at Carmen’s Banquet Centre. Over 400 guests enjoyed dinner, music, and shopping for unique items through our silent auctions and raffles. In the process, they raised funds to support the families, children, and youth that we serve on a daily basis.
