The CCASH is looking for conscientious, dynamic, responsible and flexible individuals who are interested in making an important contribution to the lives of vulnerable children and families in our community.
The students of today could be the CCASH child welfare professionals of tomorrow!
Social Work Field Placements – this Society provides placements for students in a number of different programs. McMaster University, Ryerson University and Redeemer University regularly place students here. We have also hosted students from many other institutions of higher learning including Dalhousie University, University of Southampton, Mohawk College and the University of Buffalo.
Field Placements for Other Professional Programs – medical students, teachers-in-training and others have made individual arrangements for placements. We have also participated in professional education by providing community experts for e-learning programs such as problem-based learning courses through the McMaster School of Nursing.
Local high schools regularly place students at the CCASH to gain exposure to a social service environment or a business setting.
Most co-op placements involve students assuming responsibility for clerical duties. The CCASH is also a place where students with special needs have had the opportunity to develop workplace skills.
