Current Employment Opportunities
We are always looking for social workers and service support staff with an interest in protecting children and serving the families of our community. Regardless of any current vacancies listed, we continue to welcome inquiries from interested individuals.
Our Society prides itself in “service” provided in a respectful and professional manner. This is our reputation among clients and referring professionals and agencies.
In our work, we employ great sensitivity and understanding in the handling of significant life experiences such as birth, accident and illness, separation and death.
We offer special opportunities for training and employment of disadvantaged youth and adults. We have organized our Society in a manner in which we can use the contributions of such individuals in the delivery of our services.
We are known for our willingness to collaborate with others and to take on new responsibilities. We view this as an opportunity to share our "Vision" and our "Mission" with others who are generous enough to work with us.
We show leadership in the children's services field by sharing community responsibilities in planning and delivery of services. This includes providing leadership in related organizations such as Contact Hamilton and the Community Child Abuse Council of Canada (CCAC).
We engage the Catholic and the broader community in our work as volunteers, foster parents, board members or donors. The Society's values and its commitmet to our community and its children are reflected in all we do.
We display a special responsibility towards our employees, who carry out the work of the society. This is shown through a progressive management style, and practices that are highly supportive and encourage employee participation. We encourage the "use of self" in our work. Staff members who are committed to Catholic values or who are parents or who possess special personal skills and abilities are encouraged to bring them into their work life, to the benefit of clients and their colleagues.
We feel strongly about recognizing the contribution of the members of our "Society family". We do so on a regular basis through staff meetings, special presentations and annual recognition events.
Our Board plays an important role, as the community's representatives, in promoting commitment and positive working relationships within the Society. This is particularly evident in the strong partnership with staff, foster parents and volunteers.
